Symposium Report One
The first in a series, this publication reports on the Boston, MA, symposium held in April 2002 and is designed to help policy makers, faith leaders, funders, and community leaders understand why faith-based organizations need to be included in funding and policy conversations and the challenges that this presents. Also discusses how partnering among city agencies, law enforcement offices, and social service organizations has successfully addressed some of the community's toughest issues, including street violence. The report describes benefits to the community; the kinds of partnerships involved; how to start such partnerships; and the challenges, benefits, and results of such work.
