Philanthropy and Faith: An Introduction

Throughout the United States, faith-based organizations offer community services of all kinds. This document examines several partnerships between faith-based communities and private funders, including an initiative addressing juvenile crime in Boston. Interviews with faith-based organizations and foundation executives in other cities provide additional insights. Intended primarily for the private philanthropic community, the document will also be useful for criminal justice practitioners and community and local policymakers.
